Sedini: perfect marriage beetwen art and nature
Description
The ancient village of Sedini, 20km far from us, in the heart of Anglona, offers one of the most fascinating excursions immersed in the history and nature. The Sedini origins are lost in prehistory, since its territory is rich in caves where they settled his ancestors.
At the center of town you can visit a “Domus de Janas” (home of the fairies, an ancient necropolis excavated in the rock) and dating back to the fourth millennium BC Used for centuries in different uses of daily life, from prison to hospital for the animals, as the seat of a party in a private home, now it host a museum, where you can admire an exhibition of photographs and an ethnographic territory of Sedini and Anglona.
The church of S. Andrew is dedicated to the patron saint of the village, in Gothic-Aragon style, dated in 1517, in which is kept a copy of the “Transfiguration of Raphael”, the master Andrea Lussu.
Around the country, beautiful natural scenery of waterfalls and caves.
The cooperative Setin, in Sedini, organizes excursions and itineraries for visiting the “jewels of history and nature” of this ancient town of high historical and archaeological value.
